re-sharpening is done on the same machines used to grind new knives and all knives are
reground to new knife tolerances. Only soft wheels are used to prevent edge cracking or
heat checking. If we cannot properly regrind any knife or feel it cannot be ground as
specified, it will be returned immediately with a call or letter of explanation.
To avoid any confusion, when sending in knives for sharpening:
Make sure your company name and a packing slip or our order form is enclosed
inside the box.
Note on order form any specification regarding straightness, flatness or edge
condition. Note whether knives must be ground in sets and the number of pieces per set.
Make sure all sets are clearly marked or separated.
Note whether all nicks must be ground out. While metal shear
blades must be absolutely sharp, many types of knives, such as brush chippers, scrap
choppers and scrap shears, can function well even with a few large nicks, allowing the
knife many more regrinds.
- We sharpen blades to a very sharp edge removing most all smaller
nicks, chips and gouges. If you want 100% of all nicks, chips and gouges
removed you will be charged at our shop rate of $ 35.00 per hour.
- Please package all blades and shears securely so as to prevent any one from being cut
while transporting or shipping.
